Thursday AM we headed west from Roscommon to Arcadia on the Lake Michigan coast and the Arcadia Bluffs resort. Our lodging was in one of the resort’s 4-bedroom cottages with a view (in theory) of the Bluff’s course and Lake Michigan.
Big-time fog on arrival delayed our tee-off at the Arcadia Bluffs course for a few hours. After making the turn, the fog rolled in again and we reluctantly bailed after the 12th hole. Sadly, we couldn’t enjoy views from one of the most scenic courses in the Midwest. Bummer.
The game of the day was to be ‘singles’ with a total of 8 points available. The Bozos could have pulled off an epic, comeback win for the week if they swept the matches. Not to be. By consensus, the Thursday unfinished matches were fairly even when stopped. Bolos win the week with 13 points to 6 for the Bozos. Dick and Ron tied with 6 individual points. Jerry had the most notable sand play with a double-digit attempt to escape one of the traps (witness estimates vary from 12-15 shots).
Final team scores:
> Bozos – 6 points
> Bolos – 13 points
MVP:
> Dick & Ron tie with 6 individual points
> Ron takes MVP honors after tiebreaking tee-toss.

My understanding is that if you hit the ball straight, fog won’t bother you!
Chuck and I stopped in there on my mid-west swing nine years ago. Supposed to be the best course in MI. He and his son played it. He told me there is a seniors’ price one day a week, but you have to book tee times about six months out.
Yep. That looked like a great course. The fog was dangerous given the terrain. We lost balls 10 ft off the tee! Bummer.
