The Ledges of St. George GC is a short drive north of town. Designed by Matt Dye, nephew of Pete, the course features elevation changes and amazing scenery like most of the courses in this area. The front nine is pretty tame with wide fairways. The back is challenging and scenic as the track runs through red rock canyons with views of Snow Canyon State Park. Quite a few celebrities have homes along the back 9 fairways. Ron’s favorite hole, the par 3 number 12, is a tough one – don’t go long, left, right, or short with an unforgiving green.
Today’s game is Stableford doubles where each pair has a quota of points to achieve. The side with the highest number of points scored relative to quota takes the match.
> Jerry & Tom vs. Mike & Bill – Jerry & Tom win, +4
> Dick & Terry vs. Ron & Will – Ron & Will win, +2
> Ed & Blind (Terry) vs. Kevin & Jeff – Ed & Blind, +3
After golf and beverage at Legend’s Fishrock Grill we hit up ‘George’s Corner’ in downtown St. George’s ‘Ancestor Square’ for dinner. Amazingly, just across the street was Zion Brewery’s ‘Station 2 Bar’! What are the odds? After a few pints at Station 2, a few of us took the 2-block trek to the ‘Hive 435 Taphouse’ then finished up the day around the firepit on the roof of the ‘Painted Desert’ unit.
