An early flight for the Pittsburgh lads had us leaving the Golf Lodge and North Berwick before dawn. Kevin’s flight back to Arkansas was later in the morning. He insisted he’d hang out at one of the ports coffee shops but I’m betting he found a place for a pint. Or two.
It was another fun trip. East Lothian certainly lived up to its reputation as a premier golf region. North Berwick was an ideal base with proximity to dozens of links courses, easy access to Edinburgh, lively pubs, good restaurants and views. Our two choices for lodging, No. 12 Hotel and the North Berwick Golf Lodge, were excellent.
A few facts:
- Eleven courses, twelve rounds
- Holes played – 207
- Yards walked – 81,649 – that’s about 46-1/2 miles
- Lost balls – 24
- Bunkers – 158
- Grand champ – BIll with 8 championship points (picture to follow)
- Most Bunkers – MIke with 51 (btw – that award jar contains sand from one of the Musselburgh bunkers)
Slainte!
